“In our lives, we have two or three opportunities to be a hero, but almost every day, we have the opportunity not to be a coward.” – Spanish proverb
Courage can be displayed in big and small ways. Courage can come from a child who is very brave during a scary medical exam or from one who takes on the role of pitcher when the whole team is counting on them. Courage also comes from rescue workers, police, and certainly the military who risk their lives everyday for others. The big world and our unknown future can be very scary as well and our fears of change, failure or just stepping out to take a chance, could keep us from going out of our homes if we let them. The next time you are faced with a challenging situation that requires courage, stand up tall, put your shoulders back, breath deep and take the first step. Use your inner voice and tell yourself, “Yes, I can! Go for it!”, don’t let yourself back down! The more you step out and be brave, the more natural it will become for you. This week use your inner voice and physical characteristics of courage to take on those challenges and reach your goals! Go for it!
